During a brief interview, he commented on participating in the star-studded ceremony after quite some time. "It's been a while. I think it has been about 5 years since my last 'MAMA' appearance. It's nice to see everyone."

Song Joong Ki continued, "Many things happened since then, such as enlisting in the army, in addition to a highlight event (wedding)...I am so happy. I will be the host for this evening, and I will do my best to show a great presentation."
He also couldn't leave out his wife Song Hye Kyo in the middle of all this as he described, "I've met a wonderful production and received great love. I've had an honorable experience, and I'll work to return the love", referring to 'Descendants of the Sun'.
As for his future plans, Song Joong Ki mentioned, "I've only recently got married so I think it's important to take time to enjoy my newlywed life. I haven't decided on my next project yet but I hope to greet fans with something soon."
