During a brief interview, he commented on participating in the star-studded ceremony after quite some time.� "It's been a while.� I think it has been about 5 years since my last 'MAMA' appearance.� It's nice to see everyone."

Song Joong Ki continued, "Many things happened since then, such as enlisting in the army, in addition to a highlight event (wedding)...I am so happy.� I will be the host for this evening, and I will do my best to show a great presentation."
He also couldn't leave out his wife Song Hye Kyo in the middle of all this as he described, "I've met a wonderful production and received great love. I've had an honorable experience, and I'll work to return the love",�referring to 'Descendants of the Sun'.
As for his future plans, Song Joong Ki mentioned, "I've only recently got married so I think it's important to take time to enjoy my newlywed life.� I haven't decided on my next project yet but I hope to greet fans with something soon."
