On December 21, BoA expressed her feelings on Jonghyun's tragic passing in a post. Her letter is as follows:
"To Jonghyun who always came to see me in the waiting room at every concert. Why did we always talk about work during our short meetings? Why did we only think about how we could better our work instead of wondering how we're both living? It's really tough after sending you off when I think of how lacking I was as a noona and sunbae to you. Today, I couldn't believe I was in the same place as you, but I couldn't see you. I wish you would've told me at least once. Still, I don't blame you. The beautiful lyrics and melodies you created will comfort a lot of people and remain in their memories. Jonghyun, who lived a short life but was a wonderful artist. I hope that you're only creating and singing music for yourself wherever you are. You worked hard, and you did well. 2017.12.18 I remember you."
