It has been confirmed that the Japanese girl group AKB48 will be participating in Mnet's upcoming program 'Produce 48'.

On December 10, a representative from AKB48 announced, "Members have received their participation confirmation and are expecting to take part in 'Produce 48'." AKB48 comprises of numerous members and are currently promoting through sub-teams of Team A, Team K, Team B, Team 4, and Team 8. The application period for the program will run from December 15 to January 10.
