On November 29, an exclusive report claimed that MBC's 'Idol Star Athletics Championship', which was forced to halt production midway this past October during the Chuseok holidays, will return for Lunar New Year.
Back in October, members of MBC's labor union launched a mass general strike against the broadcasting station's president Kim Jang Gyeom. It took 71 days of striking for MBC's board to vote Kim off of his president position, and MBC's major programs began re-airing last week.
According to the exclusive report, the 'Idol Star Athletics Championship' will revert back to its tradition of taking place during Korea's two major holidays, and the new sports which would have been added during the Chuseok edition from October - bowling and aerobics - will simply be carried over to the Lunar New Year edition.
However, MBC has since stepped up to respond, "There is absolutely nothing currently discussed regarding the 'Idol Star Athletics Championship'."
