On October 1, a K League Classic match between Jeju United and Gwangju FC was held at Jeju World Cup Stadium.

What was holding back Jeju from taking home the trophy, other than defeating their opponent was the unpredictable weather.

Prior to the match, a heavy rain warning was sent out by Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration.

As a result, the soccer match was filled with quite a number of unexpected incidents. With the entire field covered in giant puddles of water, players from each team sped across the field, skidding and sliding along the way towards the goal posts, splashing water everywhere, not to mention countless injuries.

At one point, both spectators and players were left baffled when the ball froze in its tracks due to the puddles. This was sure a surprising sight for soccer fans.

The wet round ended on a rather slippery note with the teams tying 1-1.
