Six idols who left their group and found success in their solo careers

ChoA, Sulli, Lee Joon, Jessica, Jay Park, Hwayoung, Nam Tae Hyun
1. Former Girls' Generation member Jessica
After leaving Girls' Generation in September 2014, Jessica made a bold move in going solo and eventually turning to the fashion market.

She also released her 10th Anniversary album 'My Decade' recently in light of her decade long career. Her title track "FLY" which she wrote and composed herself ranked high on the music charts.

She is also successful in her business ventures. Passionate for fashion, Jessica launched her own brand 'Blanc & Eclare' and is working as a designer.
2. Former 2PM member Jay Park
Previously, the leader of 2PM, Jay Park was caught in a controversy after netizens discovered an old comment on his Myspace, which led him to depart from the group.

Since then, he frequented the hip-hop scene and made an exclusive contract with a Korean agency in 2010.

Afterward, Jay Park was named the head of hip-hop label AOMG and established 'H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS'. He most recently signed with JAY-Z's Roc Nation.
3. Former f(x) member Sulli
Debuting as an f(x) member, Sulli captured the hearts of many male fans.

Having been active in the group for a while, SM Entertainment shared the unfortunate news of Sulli departing from f(x) in 2015.

Furthermore, the agency respected the idol's views and decided to assist her in preparing for her solo career. As a result, Sulli has been active on social media and recently starred in the film 'Real'.
4. Former WINNER member Nam Tae Hyun
Last November, YG Entertainment announced they had terminated their contract with WINNER's Nam Tae Hyun.

It was revealed that Nam Tae Hyun had decided to leave his group after suffering from a longtime psychological condition.

Later, he entered the indie scene, set up his own rock band South Club and released a new album with his new crew.
5. Former T-ara member Hwayoung
Following T-ara's 'bullying incident' in 2012, Hwayoung eventually left the group and parted ways with her agency, shifting gears towards acting instead.

Shedding her idol singer image, Hwayoung made her debut as an actress on the small screen via JTBC 2016 drama 'Age of Youth'.

Acclaimed for her impressive acting abilities, Hwayoung received much attention starring in KBS 2TV 'The Weird Father'.
6. Former MBLAQ member Lee Joon
Lee Joon settled on withdrawing from MBLAQ in 2014. He then made up his mind to transform from a singer into an actor.

Since then, Lee Joon built up a solid acting career, starring in popular dramas like 'Iris 2', 'Sent From Heaven', 'Mister Baek', 'Gap-Dong'.

He recently starred in KBS 2TV 'The Weird Father' and received much love and support from viewers.
