Lee Hyori shared thoughts on the past plagiarism controversy surrounding her song ''Get Ya'' and Britney Spears' ''Do Something''.

During Naver 'V' live on July 3, Lee Hyori talked about the controversy on ''Get Ya'' and said, "It was depressing because this song was accused of plagiarism. At the time, I was hurt even more because it was when I was doing good after (my hit song) 'Ten Minute'. It was an opportunity for me to realize that things can't always go my way, and I thought of things as too easy. I came to think that I need to be more careful."

she gets prettier as she ages

This wasn't the only time this happened. There was no legal action taken by Jive, but the allegation WAS justified. Then in 2010 they admitted that almost all the songs on her album WERE plagiarized and sued Bahnus Vacuum for selling them stolen works.

similar style and beat but it's not plagiarism nothing is the same.

L_catzzz Tuesday, July 4, 2017

Wasn't she got affected most for something else? Her album H-Logic?

well it reminds u of do something if u mash it up like that. Is not THAT similar. Do  something flows better IMO, but did Hyori have to pay up? like was this actual proven plagiarism by professionals in court or just netizen talk? did britneys label come for hyori?

k_fierce kpoplolita Tuesday, July 4, 2017

She had to hand over the rights to the song to the original writer. Yes Britney's people did sue I think (or at least the original writers for her song did). Someone correct me if I'm wrong. That's why there's not a lot of performanaces for get ya, instead she performs shall we dance more.

There wasn't a suit. It was settled out of court. Her company did sue another company in Korea for selling them plagiarized material though.

So Lee Hyori's company got their own back. Britney is not so vindictive. Good it was settled out of court.

BigBlueagain Iamalittledai5y Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Honestly though, the Korean market is so small that Jive probably just didn't think it worth the while. They said, her company responded, that was it.

The End
