Former IOI member Kim Chung Ha recently sat down for an interview with TV Report where she discussed her solo debut and how she was influenced to become a singer.

Officially launching her solo career in May with new song "WEEK," Kim Chung Ha has officially released her first mini album 'Hands On Me' containing title track 'Why Don't You Know (feat. Nucksal)'.

In an interview with TV Report, the singer commented in regards to her mini album, "The title track is a dance song.  I also came up with a portion of the choreography.  Apart from IOI which allowed me to demonstrate my strong side, I would like to show a more refreshing side of myself this time."

Previously, Kim Chung Ha had illustrated her powerful dancing skills as an IOI member via Mnet's 'Produce 101.'

She continued, "I can say that I am confident in dancing.  I began dancing well before I started preparing to become a singer.  However, I don't want to necessarily create a stage just for pure attraction."

She then went on to state her role models.  "I've been a huge fan of Lee Hyori sunbaenim ever since I was little.  As soon as I saw her I was amazed by how cool she looked, not to mention her beautiful appearance, I respect her performances.  She is full of charisma.  I also look up to BoA sunbaenim for music inspiration.  I listened to BoA's CDs so many times.  I would like to learn how to sing and dance like her."

It's the first time in ages that someone have BoA and Hyori as role models.... Daily I heard GG, Wonder Girls, Hyona, Hyorin, IU... etc. I really like that she thinks in this two singers as she says.

With the Queen of KPop and Hyori as inspirations, she's set the bar VERY high for herself. Her vid kinda reminded me (a little bit) of someone else who's been heavily inspired by BoA... Tiffany. She keeps this up, she's gonna go far. :)

Well if she is going to dream, she has to set the bar very very high. for female solo artists, I see a few famous ones, like BoA, lee Hyori, Uhm Jung Hwa, and ballad ones like Baek ji Young and Lee Sunhee and such, she defintely belong to the dance or performance solo artist category, so i guess BoA, Lee Hyo Ri, Uhm Jung hwa etc would be her role models.

If you go to the comments section of her song on YouTube, you see people comparing her to BOA, Hyori, Jessica and even Taeyeon. LOL. It is totally natural to be inspired by other performers.  Personally, I just want her to be Chung Ha.

comparing her is one thing, people has to compare her against someone because she hasnt get a Style of her own yet, as she is a rookie. one day when she is more experienced, she may become the inspiration model to other younger artists, and she may eventually develop her own style "Chungha" style, like BoA and Taeyeon etc.

If she gets the right songs, I can really see her being this generations BoA
