It seems Big Hit Entertainment is facing issues surrounding the illegal distribution of their label artists' copyrights, including portrait rights, copyright, name rights, creative work, etc.

The label has issued an official warning to fans and businesses alike in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese. The warning cautions businesses, who may be contacted by unknown parties trying to sell BTS's copyright and trying to sub-license the artists' brand without Big Hit's consent. The warning also goes out to fans, who may come to consume products illegally licensed by 3rd parties.

Read Big Hit's official statement below.

Jesusagrees Saturday, June 24, 2017

*lools over at Aeon Dream studios*I knew this day would come when they'd get busted for making a BTS game without permission lmao

cutemochi Jesusagrees Saturday, June 24, 2017

you do know that they only made a demo n trying to get bighit's ok to continue right???

Jesusagrees cutemochi Thursday, July 6, 2017

I do know that, and i did play the demo and found it fun. But they still had NO permission doing so and BigHit obviously did not and won't give them permission to

GoldenIdun Saturday, June 24, 2017

I wonder where this is all coming from? What shady businesses have been attempting to sell fake copyrights and licences? Must have been more than just one, if they felt the need to release this statement in 4 different languages... Glad BH is taking care of it tho!

SpanishKpoper Saturday, June 24, 2017

Bighit: whats the way we can make money fast as f? concerts in Europe?nooooooooooooonow our group of nugus is popular as f, lets make money as f with the copyriths fking all fangirls who subtitulate our programs, music, and do videos of us :D.

amlr98 SpanishKpoper Saturday, June 24, 2017

They're not talking about fansubs, in fact the boys have actually thanked fansubbers. What they're talking about is people who are illegally SELLING merch

choi_an_ni SpanishKpoper Saturday, June 24, 2017

nah BigHit never take down video by subbers, they knew very well that they are one of the biggest contributor to BTS succes. I think it's more to those who sell fake merchandise like there is someone who sell fake ARMY BOMB.

SpanishKpoper choi_an_ni Saturday, June 24, 2017

i have many friends that make subs in spanish, and her videos with copyright are a pain in the ass, so this is why i throwing a bit of salt here dude.

choi_an_ni SpanishKpoper Sunday, June 25, 2017

maybe for some video, but what I knew content from BangtanTV usually won't be taking down, unless you subs BTS video that not really belong to BTS like from Vapp,Naver Stracast etc

msdreadedfate SpanishKpoper Monday, June 26, 2017

Fansubbing BangtanTV and Bangtan Bomb videos are fine on youtube. If your friends are subbing other videos such as: Behind the Scenes of MVs, Vlives and series like: Bon Voyage, RUN and GAYO then that's another story. These videos don't completely belong to BigHit Entertainment and it's usually Vapp and Naver that copyright these videos. They are very strict about it but are within their rights to do so.

All these  trolls need to stay in there lane.  Don't worry about BTS.  ARMY's will always support them.  Support who y'all want and go learn to love yourselves.  We good over here.  #dontsendforusifwedidntsendforyou

LveKimTae Saturday, June 24, 2017

And the trolls are back at it again sigh

nickybaenim Friday, June 23, 2017

MMMM r u talking about illegal distribution of votes throughout their career. Well, it could be. They should learn of how we SONES are. Nothing bad about us. We are babies😙😙😙😙

have you got thrush again an need a dog to scratch it for you

MsArchetype Friday, June 23, 2017

So I guess Ebay and Amazon are of limits?

Ewwwwwmysuc69 Friday, June 23, 2017

Basically it means buying all this shit that you didn't pay for. Like the lightstick and slogans etc. you usually only get those for joining the fandom and I don't mean saying "I'm an Army" like no. You have to join the OFFICAL FAN CAFE, PASS a test, PAY your membership fees every month and IF you get to join you get offical goods. Did y'all really think you count in the fandom if you just say so? I swear a lot of you new Kpop fans don't understand how things work, you buying all this shit from 3rd parties actually hurt BTS and other groups because they aren't getting the profits.

freysan Ewwwwwmysuc69 Friday, June 23, 2017

no, I don't think so..I think you can buy lightsticks or official goods from certified distributors even when you're not a member of the fan cafe.. BUT you can't use their names, faces, slogans, and such for businesses without contract with BigHit (ex: selling unofficial photobooks, photocards, shirts with their faces or lyrics or whatnot ; also no-no for restaurants or businesses who might use member as their "models" or something similar without their consent)..

Lunas93 freysan Friday, June 23, 2017

if AKP selling these goods without BH's permission they probably be in big trouble too.

TzuyuGirl Ewwwwwmysuc69 Friday, June 23, 2017

pay membership for fandom that exist on other side of the globe and I wouldn't even have chance to see them in real life ever , international fans don't have that luxually of seeing bts everyday like korean fans so we can't pay fee everymonth , watching YT videos and voting for them is enough

ARBANG Ewwwwwmysuc69 Saturday, June 24, 2017

I think you have your info completely wrong. To get lightsticks or official goods it is not necessary for you to be part of Fancafe (if that was the case, only a small fraction of the fans would have these items as not all have the liberty/means/ability to join - furthermore it would be mean uneven distribution/lack of light sticks for the oceans when the fans attend concerts)

ARBANG Ewwwwwmysuc69 Saturday, June 24, 2017

However if you mean to say that counterfeit products from 3rd parties hurt BTS then of course I agree.

Haeberry Ewwwwwmysuc69 Saturday, June 24, 2017

I know you're upset about BTS not getting the profit they deserve, and I agree that it hurts BTS... but since when did ARMYs have to join the fancafe in order to "prove" they're an ARMY? Being part of the fandom doesn't mean passing a test and paying a membership each month. You should rethink your definition of a fandom :/

msdreadedfate TzuyuGirl Monday, June 26, 2017

Preach for the international fans!

infraredindego Friday, June 23, 2017

Well its jail for me then.. Ain't nobody got money for that
