The girl group officially announced that they're going separate ways in June of 2016. HyunA was the only member to remain in Cube Entertainment while Gayoon and Sohyun joined new labels to pursue their careers in acting. Jiyoon also had a fresh start as solo artist Jenyer.

When asked about 4minute's disbandment, Jenyer stated, "Sometimes when I watch past videos of 4minute, I get nostalgic." She also shared thoughts on Gayoon and Sohyun's shift to acting. Jenyer said, "Honestly, I was very worried at first but now I want to applaud their passion."
