A Korean army corporal donated his vacation days and bone marrow to save a high school student's life.

The Korean Army's official Facebook page posted a story of Corporal Lee Jae Chang, warming up many people's hearts.

The story shared that Corporal Lee registered as a bone marrow donor back when he was still a college student. Months later, when Lee entered his mandatory military service, he received news that he matched 100% with a high school student who was suffering from hematologic malignancy -- a cancer of the blood and bone marrow.

Lee hesitated for a little bit because now he was in the army, and unlike when he was in college, he was already risking his safety on a daily basis and also had limited free days. However, that thought did not last long; Lee decided that being a soldier was no reason to reject the donation request.

Not only did Lee gladly donate his bone marrow, he also gave up more than half of his vacations days -- 9 days -- in order to complete the medical examinations and also to finally donate his bone marrow. And because of Corporal Lee's sacrificial act, the high school senior could regain hope on a new life.
