The Rainbow members left a handwritten letter for fans on Instagram following news from DSP Media of the girl group's official disbandment.

The letter says as follows:

"'Hello, the Rainbow has risen.' Whenever we shouted this greeting, we always gained strength, and we were happy that we gave all of you good energy. After meeting our DSP friends, we realized our dreams, became Rainbow, and we received great love and support. We also were able to receive a very precious family.

That's why we were so hurt when we heard the word 'disbandment' in yesterday's headlines. We think all of you, especially Rainnous who supported us, were very disappointed and surprised.

Even though Rainbow's contract has ended and our official promotions with DSP Media have ended, we're not disappearing! We will support each other as we did before, and we'll be with you all. If we all work hard in our spots, we trust we'll be able to be together one day. First place isn't important! All the moments we've had with you are happy and precious.

Thank you for making us so happy for the past 7 years. We'll wait until we can make Rainbow rise in your hearts once again. From Rainbow!"

I'm really disappointed at how DSP handled them all these years. I personally liked their Black Swan promotion but seeing that DSP deemed it as lackluster is depressing. I hope the girls find happiness in their respective fields..

Fin.k.l disbanded and everyone was depressed. Then SS501 came along and people started to see light again. But they disbanded too. KARA OT4 was created and people didn't give them a chance because they were upset from Fin.k.l disbandment and couldn't accept a 2nd girl group. Then KARA OT5 was created and BAM, BAM, BAM hits were dropping from left to right, up & down. They became so huge that they were one of the biggest groups during the Golden Era. The were ranked 3rd most successful girl group in Korea in 2010-2012. Became #1 most successful Korean group in Japan and #1 most successful girl group in Japan during the Golden Era going on to the 3rd generation. But then, they disbanded ... Now people lost hope. But wait ! They soon realized that Rainbow could actually be the new Fin.k.l & KARA ! But DSP sucks so bad at managing them, that they failed. Rainbow was nominated as one of the best rookies in 2009. Their song "A" was a huge hit ! But after that something changed, no one knows what. And now they disbanded as well. No one has faith in DSP anymore. A-JAX is pretty much disbanded too. Face it. And more than 80% of people don't even know if April is a girl group. People just know April, the month ._.

I *liked* your message posting *very* much. But I would also like to add a couple observations to it. While K-pop Music has grown a LOT since Year 2009 (RAINBOW Group startup), ALSO, there are a LOT MORE K-pop Groups CHASING THE MONEY than in Year 2009. My GUESS is that the TREND will be that K-pop Groups will TEND to 'start out' at YOUNGER AGES like TWICE Group. And also, the useful 'shelf life' (profitability) of the K-pop Groups will last for LESS YEARS DURATION than in the past, in general. And those Groups that LAST for a LONGER period of time, will TEND to be those that can be marketed on an ASIA-WIDE basis. Which means, the BIG AGENCIES (like SMe ; YGe ; JYPe ; FNCe ; etc) will TEND to have a BIG ADVANTAGE over smaller 'S.KOREA ONLY' startup Agencies. The 'Run of Years' at the top for BIGBANG Group and SNSD Group; I think that will be RARE in the future. Anyway, it is NOT surprising that 'time has expired' for RAINBOW Group, as I see it.

Sadly yes 😟

Fucking hell I'm so sad... and to make matters worse they're wearing their respective colors as nail polish TT-TT I'm bawling, I freaking loved Rainbow and the biggest injustice was how they always delivered such bopping songs and didn't win even once. Regardless, I will forever remember them and will still continue to jam out to their catchy tunes. I hope everything goes well in whatever individual careers the girls decide to embark on and I will always be here to proudly say that I was a fan. Rainbow forever!

they're not disbanding.. they're just moving to a new phase in their lives.. i believe in them.. for 7 years they were together.. no one left for the past 7 years.. that's loyalty.. so the word disbandment that DSP used is not what the members meant to happened.. RAINBOW will one day come together and perform on stage, that i believe..

fakn horse shit! =(

bigsuper501 Saturday, October 29, 2016

yes i'm surprise they had no member change in 7 years too

k_kid Saturday, October 29, 2016

I'm actually surprised that they lasted this long as a group without anyone leaving for 7 years. Loyalty.

starempress Saturday, October 29, 2016

Kinda appropriate if you think about it, for Rainbow to disappear after 7 years
