On August 17, Super Junior's Kangin attended the first trial for his DUI accident from May.

During the trial, Kangin's legal representative claimed, "Kangin has admitted to driving under the influence and is currently reflecting on his actions. However, the officially announced blood alcohol level is high compared to the amount of alcohol he actually consumed." He continued, "Please consider that there were no other damages done other than to the streetlight. Also, it is true that he was involved in similar cases before, but that was 7 years ago. He may be at fault, but also received harsh criticism as the case was reported excessively all over the media. It is most likely that he will not be able to continue promoting."

Kangin stated at the end of the trial, "I should've been more cautious as a celebrity and I am reflecting on my actions. I will not create such a situation again."

A fine of 7,000,000 KRW (approximately $6,050 USD) has been issued against Kangin. The final ruling will be announced on September 7.

Why is he still not in jail yet?

lilliana Thursday, August 18, 2016

I really wonder how his future is going to be... ...

Koisuru lilliana Tuesday, August 23, 2016

I have heard a rumor that he might not come back at all after this. But that is just a rumor

"I should've been more cautious as a celebrity" No you should've been more cautious as a fucking decent human being.

Hope he reflects well! Let's check this seven years later! :p

Uuff, Kanging you were my favorite memeber, but as I watched you perform I wasn't sure you were pretty happy on it, I hope you really can reflect about your life now.

Butterfly_Red Wednesday, August 17, 2016

a fine? rly? a damn fine?

bangeryun94 Butterfly_Red Wednesday, August 17, 2016

He paid a fine when he was caught. Now he's being prosecuted. 2 totally different things

Never get caught drinking again and there is a tiny chance that this situation would happen again. After the blow up the first time and the sht storm that ensued you think that would have been enough lesson.

kimmiefonze Wednesday, August 17, 2016

A lot of the people in this section are probably children who has not yet lived long enough to realize that life is not a black and white situation. There are grey areas where one must take to to be better. Life is also not a pass or fail kids! Just because you made stupid mistakes does not make your future invalid of success nor to be voided of support from your family. Kangin hit a car seven years ago and a street lamp a few months ago. He is 100 percent responsible for those and should definitely be punished for it. But why on Earth are you people, so high up your righteous asses, treat him like a criminal? You people have probably never met a criminal in your life to judge him like that. You all need Jesus, Buddha, and Allah in your lives to reflect on how unforgiving and judgmental you truly are.

teck kimmiefonze Wednesday, August 17, 2016

yes. Agree 100% in your opinion! People are too focused on what other people's fault and keep pointing finger like the worlds gonna end. I'm not saying Kangin is not guilty, he is. He deserved to be sued or whatever he need to by LAW not by us. Our negative voices will affect him more to negative side. Let the law judge him and we pray for the best for him. Kicking him out from SJ doesn't benefit anyone in this case.

IARMY93 Wednesday, August 17, 2016

People make mistakes all the time, but not THE SAME ONE TWICE! I usually find netizens overreact but in this one tgey have all the right to get angry, he is not just affecting himself as a celebrity but SUJU as well, how many times people are gonna have to forgive him for this. It may be better if he leaves SUJU after all.

kimmiefonze IARMY93 Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Can you cite concrete examples on how SuJu will be better without Kangin? Because from what I believe, Kangin leaving will only leave 10 resentful members, 1 depressed former member and a fandom that is divided.

IARMY93 kimmiefonze Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Yes i do think they're better off without him because then they wont have to deal with more bulls***, they've had enough through the years and he should've put that into consideration, i don't hate him I'm not a hater but i just hate what he did I'm dissertation like the others, i just want him to learn from his mistakes i know im nobody to tell him what to do im just hoping, thats all.

RoAnon9935 IARMY93 Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Keep telling people it's all fun and games till Kangin kills someone or seriously hurts them. Then watch how people turn on SUJU and the company for "supporting" him. Yes, they may not support his DUI habit that is how it will be twisted. IT's also a huge slap in the face to all the fans who stood for him the first time. A big fck you to all the fans who had it in their hearts to forgive him. You think the guilt would have stopped him alone knowing every time he did it was betraying fans. You know this was not his first DUI since his last one it was just his first time caught since then. Sadly now day in age DUI is not seen as a big nono as it used to be. It's sad to see some young SUJU fans say it's "just a DUI". Drinking and driving IS a problem and so many innocent people's lives are changed by it everyday. The fact isn't the DUI anymore this is his SECOND known DUI. Repeat offenders are known to repeat. If you cannot control your drinking habits quit or have someone with you to be responsible (designated driver)

IARMY93 RoAnon9935 Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Exactly thats what i meant i dont hate him im just disappointed in his actions he should be more careful and like you said if someone cant control his drinking habits quit or atleast not to drink if he knows that he has to drive afterwards.

RoAnon9935 IARMY93 Wednesday, August 17, 2016

And disappointment is worse then hate.

IARMY93 RoAnon9935 Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Yup! because if you hate a person you wouldn't give 2 s***s but if you care you get disappointed if they do something really bad just like how parents get disappointed when their kids get in trouble

teck IARMY93 Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Maybe you not living long enough in this world to make more than twice mistakes. Human makes mistakes all the time. The things is whether he/she learn from it...we won't never know that.

IARMY93 teck Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Ive already said that people do make many maby mistakes but not the EXACT SAME MISTAKE twice unless its a child and he is a grown a** man old enough to know whats right and whats wrong

RoAnon9935 teck Wednesday, August 17, 2016

There are mistakes that can cause harm, so long as they are not made again they can be forgiven. These mistakes that can cause harm should never be repeated. All it takes is once for someone innocent to loose something for life. He lucked out very much with his first DUI. Then again with the light pole. But how many close call with the in between DUI's do we not know about. We all know there is DUI's we do not know about. It's unlikely it's his first DUI since his last DUI.

kimmiefonze RoAnon9935 Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Who exactly are saying these are fun and games?

kimmiefonze IARMY93 Tuesday, September 6, 2016

From what I remember, SuJu went to their worst fights during Mr. Simple era ( I assume you know their history) and Kangin was not there. Leeteuk, Shindong, and Yesung ran their mouths against overweight girls and Kangin was not involved in that. Kibum and Hangeng left and Kangin was not part of it, Eunhyuk was involved in a fake (?) sex scandal to give a girl a more mature image, and Siwon showed bigotry by liking a tweet. You see, Super Junior has never been the perfect group and if you stuck long enough they do admit their shortcomings. Stop assuming that Kangin's scandal causes SuJu to fail because the biggest boygroup in KPop aka BigBang has 60 percent of its members owning to the biggest scandals of the time.
