Gil says Lee Hi needs to debut overseas to show the world her incredible talent

Recently, Lee Hi featured in Gil's new song "Refrigerator". He shared the behind story of how the collaboration came to be, stating, "YG is known for not doing many featurings, but Lee Hi featured for me. I was already finished recording with Verbal Jint, and then suddenly, Lee Hi came into my mind. Her song "Breathe" was exceptionally good."

Gil continued, "I don't think her voice is a voice that can come from someone who's born in 1996. I began thinking that it would be good if she tried recording with a different color, so when I was talking with Tablo, who is like my brother, he told me to ask Yang Hyun Suk hyung about it. That's how it all started. Then Lee Hi immediately asked Hyun Suk hyung when she heard [about Gil's interest in collaboration]."

He then praised Lee Hi's vocals with, "Lee Hi said it was her first time featuring, and she sang very well. I was shocked. It was the first time that I felt that way since Jung In. I even told her that she needs to go sing overseas."
