Students come to the defense of man who beat and confined his girlfriend

Buzz

The man who was reported to have beaten and confined his girlfriend for over four hours is being defended by fellow Chosun University students for his atrocities while the girlfriend being castigated even though she is the victim.

SBS '8 News' reported on December 2, "When the perpetrator of the medical school incident was expelled, his classmate started lashing out at the victimized student," and revealed a picture.

The photo shows the group chat among five students enrolled in Chosun University's medical school, one of them being the victim. The students bullied the victim with a barrage of abusive language such as, "You have responsibility for the beating," and told her, "You ruined the life of someone you used to love."

Even though it was clearly proven that the man was violent and abusive towards his girlfriend, the classmates were more worried for the perpetrator rather than the victim.

When their criticism towards the victim earned backlash, the students hurriedly offered an apology but many are still fuming at the outrage of cornering the victim.

Most of the netizen comments on this article express that outrage, and read, "Whatever the reason, you can't justify violence towards a person weaker than you," "From now on, I will tell the people of Gwangju not to go to Chosun University or Chosun University Hospital and go to Chonnam National University Hospital instead. Let's take care not to get treated by a doctor who graduated from Chosun University," "How can they defend a person like that....are you admitting that you are like him?? Daebak...do you guys also beat women? Lock her up? Until her ribs give out? I'm really looking forward to the future doctors of this country...haha," "Why are the victims always the ones to suffer more," and, "There are a lot of people not in their right minds.."
