The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency shared a cautionary anecdote warning us all not to trust strangers...especially sketchy guys you met up for a blind date who are only after that one thing: your family heirlooms. 

On its official Facebook page, the Busan Police uploaded a tale about a man and woman who met through a blind date. The story began, "Bringing the lady right to her door, the man seems to have impeccable manners. The girl fell hard for the guy who didn't leave until he saw that she was safely inside.

"But what they man was focusing on was the tips of her fingers; we arrested the man for coming back to the girl's home to burglarize it of valuables, after having memorized the passcode [to enter her home]." The story then concluded on a grave note with, "Everyone, that's why blind dates are dangerous."

According to the police, the incident occurred last month on the 31st at Busan, and the man in question had infiltrated the woman's home after memorizing the passcode, stealing around 1,300,000 KRW (~$1,126 USD) worth of jewelry. 

Using an actual incident, the police has effectively reminded us to keep our eyes peeled for shady characters and to keep our homes safely guarded. That boy thought he was being slick.

Netizens were quite intrigued by the post and liked it more than 24,000 times. The top comments on the post read, "Honey, I think it is dangerous outside of the blanket as expected!!!! Let's just stay under the blankets," "From now on, I will change the door to a lock [instead of a key pad] before a blind date.  Thank you for the good information," and "I see, a blind date is this dangerous.  As expected, couples are dangerous.
