First round had a mysterious woman going by the identity of 'Sunflower' and a man going by 'Guitar Man' face off. With their solid vocal skills, many of the panelists guessed that these were singers with much experience in the field. However, Dongwoon and Sandeul, as fellow idols, were correctly able to pinpoint that this match seemed to be an idol vs. idol. They were right, and everyone was surprised to learn that 'Sunflower' was none other than Solar from MAMAMOO, and 'Guitar Man' was EXO's main vocal, Chen!
Solar lost to Chen in this face off, but she remarked how honored she was to have been on the show and to showcase her skills. Chen actually went on to win the next round as well and eventually faced off against the reigning 'mask king'! He wasn't able to pull off the win, but with how far he got up in the competition, he remarked that he had absolutely no regrets and was so happy to have been given the opportunity to be acknowledged for his vocal skills.
