Just in time for their 7th anniversary since their debut, it has been reported that Girls' Generation's 1st Japanese greatest hits album 'THE BEST' has topped the Oricon Weekly Album Chart for 2 consecutive weeks!

Girls' Generation's 'THE BEST', which was released on July 23, maintained its #1 spot on the Oricon Daily Album Chart for 12 consecutive days. This translated into clenching the #1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart for 2 consecutive weeks, and the ladies have become the first Korean group to achieve such a feat.
Regarding the achievement, SM Entertainment stated, "This is the first time that a Korean group has achieved #1 on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart for two weeks straight, and the second time this has been achieved by a Korean artist (group and solo) since BoA with her 3rd Japanese full-length album 'LOVE & HONESTY' in 2004"
