The Ministry of Defense had announced that they'd be punishing the celebrities for their misbehavior when they announced the abolition of the celebrity recruits, and the Ministry has finally revealed their decision.

Private Choi (Se7en) and Private Lee (Sangchu), who left the dorms without permission to get a massage, have been sentenced to 10 days in military jail. Five celebrity recruits are being sentenced to 4 days of military jail for having a cellphone. The last soldier is being sentenced to 10 days of probation in confinement because he left to watch a movie after hours.

The Ministry of Defense said, "The two soldiers first went to get a massage after their concert. They went to a Chinese massage parlor and then a Thai massage parlor, but they were closed, so they then went to 2 massage parlors that were still open late at night. However, they came out right away when they realized what kind of place it was. We decided that they were aiming to get a massage and had no intentions in participating in prostitution. However, we sentenced them to military jail because they broke the rules of not wearing the military uniform as well as leaving the dorms without permission."

They're always trying to make examples of people. Start with the corrupt officials and their sons who get special privileges. ;

pretty sure one of the other celebs is Rain bc he was caught with a phone beforehand and possibly meeting with his gf while telling the military he had to leave for promotional activities. not sure, but could be. Also, what is this about "they left the massage parlor immediately after finding out what place it was" FUCK THAT. BULLSHIT. Like really people. we are not dumb. please

You would be wrong about Rain. Rain was never "caught" with a phone. Rain did serve a punishment back in January for having gone out with Kim Tae Hee on 3 occasions when returning to base and for one occasion of not having his hat on while in uniform. By the way, the next time Rain was seen after having served his punishment, he was wearing his hat while superior officers around him were not. Go figure, huh?! Rain was not a part of the group being punished for incidents of June 21. He was cleared of any wrong doing and was honorably discharged as planned on July 10, 2013.

I hate it when international fans say these thing without even knowing the situation of our country and the celebrities. They should be punished because they broke a law the end fan girls. 10 days in jail and hash tags already?

I'm pretty disappointed in these guys but it should be a humbling experience to be in jail as well as join the regular recruits now that the celebrity recruits are abolished. ;At least I hope it does them good. ;

Who said they deserve a lighter sentence? For the people who are thirsting for a harsher punishment, I'm detailing how much worse of an ordeal this really is. They broke curfew and get 10 days in jail. They are also going to take a hit career wise, not to mention the fact that they aren't done serving so they will have to continue their service as normal recruits so who knows what treatment they'll receive there.. ;

I'm just trying to show people that the punishment is already pretty grave, but people here are so righteous and indignant. /sigh

The viewpoints expressed in your three messages are WELL stated.

Assault vs breaking curfew? And unauthorized communication depending on military department is a serious offense, more so than breaking curfew. ;
