CJ Entertainment revealed, "A Director's Cut of 'Wolf Boy' with a newly edited ending will be re-released in December." The new version will add 2 minutes onto the original movie, and its running time will increase to 127 minutes.�After fans requested to see the unrevealed ending, CJ Entertainment decided to release the movie again with a new ending to comply with the requests those who have shown the movie so much love.

However, not everyone is happy about the news as some commented, "I have to pay for the entire movie again to see 2 minutes?", "If the movie got so much love, shouldn't you respond by releasing the 2 minutes for free...", and "Even the Hollywood hit 'I Am Legend' released 10 minutes of the Director's Cut ending for free, so what is this?".
