Lee Hyori has kicked off a campaign to construct an animal shelter.
The star will be working with Daum Communications to launch a month-long campaign to build an animal shelter for abandoned and/or abused animals.
The event began on February 13th with Lee Hyori's petition on the homepage, which read: "There are still many animals out there suffering circumstances worse than death at the hands of people. The animal shelter will provide a safe haven for the abused animals. We want to do everything we can even if all we can do is lay the foundation stone."
The petition drew more than 500 signatures in a matter of five hours, allowing the proposal to become a full-fledged campaign. The fund-raise will continue until March 12th and every cent raised will be used to construct an animal shelter.
