Lately, besides Sunmi's occasional Twitter updates, fans have been left in the dark regarding Sunmi's latest whereabouts since her temporary leave from the Wonder Girls in February.
Recently, a JYPE representative stated, "Lately Sunmi has been eagerly studying for her college entrance exams." Last May, Sunmi passed her GED (general equivalency diploma) exam and received a rather high score. Therefore, she has decided to continue on by challenging the 2011 college entrance exams, which will take place in November.
The representative reassured people that there would be no biases for Sunmi, saying, ''Sunmi is studying like any other student and will take the same test."
The representative added, "Sunmi frequently comes to the JYP office...In addition to her studies, she has continued to receive vocal and dance training."
When asked about Sunmi's future return to the entertainment industry, they responded, "Whether or not Sunmi will return as a Wonder Girl or as a solo artist will depend on the situation at that future time and Sunmi's opinion...Until then, she plans to practice hard in addition to her studies."
