I bet all you SuJu and SNSD fans would jump at the opportunity to join this exclusive club. Unfortunately, the Milk Club is an organization that one shouldn't be too keen on being a part of. According to Leeteuk's recent Cyworld entries, he and fellow SM artists Yoona and Taeyeon have started a special club for "the gathering of depressed souls." He explains that the purpose of the club is for idol stars to provide mutual support for one another in order to overcome feelings of pain and loneliness. Apparently DBSK's Micky Yoochun and SHINee leader Onew were also deemed depressed enough to join the club, as new members must first be approved by the three administrators. Although the name of the club is a bit odd, I definitely feel for the guy. You wouldn't expect such a cheerful person to be struggling with depression, but then again, don't most idol stars appear fine on the outside? K-pop fans are by no means strangers when it comes to hearing about their favorite stars battling depression. Big Bang's G-Dragon was known to have been a victim of it, and Jewelry's Seo In Young recently admitted to taking a vacation to America as a way to recuperate from severe stress. There seems to be quite a few members in the Milk Club, and judging by the tone of Leeteuk's post, he plans on recruiting more depressed SM souls. I was always under the impression that SM was the happiest label since...you know...they seem to market cutesy-ness more? It's a bit unnerving how many members of the company are already part of the club. Either other labels are extremely good at hiding how much their artists hate their lives, or SM is just a really sad place to be. And what exactly do they do in this club to help one another out...like do they hold weekly meetings or something? Go around in a circle and talk about how stressful their week has been? Do arts and crafts together? Maybe some yoga? Well, whatever it is they do in the Milk Club, let's hope they recover fully.
