The trailer for Jo In Sung and Joo Jin Mo's upcoming historical film Frozen Flower was so hot it gave me shivers. The film was inspired by a true story from the Koryo Kingdom and tells the story of a love triangle between the King, the Queen, and the Captain of the King's Royal Bodyguards who is the object of the King's affection. Doesn't it sound like an open-minded fairy tale? Boy meets boy, boy sleeps with boy, boy marries girl, boy's boy sleeps with girl, happy threesome! Although I don't know if the actual film plot will follow my predictions, but from the looks of the preview, it will be pretty damn hot for sure because Jo In Sung sleeps with both of his co-stars. The costumes in this movie make these already drool-worthy men and woman look even more incredible, which is a welcomed aberration from most historical pieces in Korea, where most characters look rather unappealing. The sets look absolutely stunning and picturesque, which reminds me of those Chinese made-for-Hollywood epics, but hopefully this film will actually have some substance. If Lee Jun Ki's "The King's Man" is any indication, this film filled with betrayals, affairs, secrets and more importantly homosexuality will be a box office hit in Korea. The film will start showing on Dec. 30th, and will be the last film to be played in 2008. For those of you lucky ones in Korea, you now know what you will be doing the day before New Year's Eve. I wonder if American theaters will be importing this one. If not, well, I for one will be waiting for the illegal upload of the movie quite breathlessly.
