'Age of Youth' praised Hwayoung for her dedication to her acting!

On the 13th, the drama aired a scene from Hwayoung's character's past. She had been on a boat that caught on fire, and had managed to surface by clinging onto a floating bag. However, a child that had been on the boat as well suddenly grabbed her in an attempt to live as well, and they started to sink. In the end, Hwayoung's character shoved the girl away, managing to survive but causing the child to drown. The memory is traumatic to her, who kept repeating throughout the drama about her 'killing' someone and had dealt with her guilt.

Hwayoung had shot the scene early in June, and she had to shoot the difficult scene the entire day. She said, "I tried to express trauma from making a decision on giving someone else's life up so I could live." The staff of the drama said, "When the child actress got cold because of the water, Hwayoung held her and comforted her, and went through the difficult filming perfectly. We were thankful for her passion."
