Eight-year-old died at the hands of a negligent assistant teacher?

Buzz

This past June 14, a woman named Park Chung Hee informed media outlet Insight that her 8-year-old cousin named Park Han Eum passed away on June 12 due to the negligence of an assistant teacher.

According to Park, Han Eum, who suffered form congenital muscular dystrophy, had gotten on the bus to a special-ed school with the help of his mother this past April 6. Around ten minutes after Han Eum boarded the bus and settled into a seat, he lowered his face which had turned purple as he gasped for breath and slowly lost his consciousness. Park claimed that the assistant teacher who was sitting nearby was too occupied on her smart phone to notice that anything was wrong with Han Eum or that he had cried out for help.

When Insight studied the surveillance footage Park submitted, they found that the assistant teacher only adjusted Han Eum's posture once during the ride to school. Further, the footage showed that the person sitting next to the assistant teacher looked over at her multiple times when Han Eum had cried out. However, the assistant teacher was too busy preening herself or talking on the phone.

It was only when the bus arrived at school that the teacher in charge of Han Eum's class realized something was wrong with him, and he was immediately transferred to a nearby hospital, but Han Eum had already fallen into a coma, and he took his last breath on June 12.

Park told Insight in a phone call, "The incident occurred three days after the assistant teacher began work. She had come to the funeral, and I was stunned to see that she wore a green flower-print skirt. I hope that Han Eum isn't hurting in heaven."
