As you probably know, AJ has been taking time off from U-KISS to attend the prestigious Columbia University in New York. It was previously expected that the hiatus would not be too long as he had previously taken time off before but returned to promote with the group not too long after. However, it is now being reported that AJ has negotiated with NH Media to return to the group after completing his studies and graduating. He is currently in his second year of college.

This doesn't mean that he and the agency have terminated their contract, but as it will take a while before he graduates from university, insiders predict that returning to the entertainment scene after such a period of time will be difficult. 

A source close to AJ told StarNews, "From what I know, it has been difficult trying to juggle both celeb activities and studies simultaneously, so he and the agency have both suffered from a lot of stress. As much as he has gotten into a great school, his determination to finish his studies is strong."

NH Media told the media outlet, "We gave permission so that AJ can make his studies his priority. However it does not mean he has left U-KISS. There is still some time left on his contract until he has to renew."
