KARA have found themselves in the headlines again regarding rumors surrounding Nicole's possible leave.

Japan's 'Sankei Sports' published an article today with the title, 'KARA Nicole, to study abroad in the U.S. next February'.

According to the article, after the expiration of her contract with DSP Media in January, Nicole will leave for the U.S. to prepare for a solo career. The news outlet explains that this will happen if Nicole and DSP Media cannot work out an agreement with Nicole staying active as a part of KARA even though she's not under the agency. If the two sides can't reach an agreement, Nicole will leave for the U.S. to further expand her singing and dancing skills.

A source close to Nicole is reported to have said, "Nicole is planning to go to the U.S. in February after her contract expires in mid January. Nicole is a U.S. citizen and was born in LA, and she's planning to further expand her dancing and singing skills at LA, the center of entertainment and world's top stars. It is Nicole's dream to be active as a solo artist. As she is now 22 years of age, it seems she has made this decision to achieve her dreams."

In addition, 'Sankei Sports' suggests that the reason for the conflict between DSP Media and Nicole stems from the issue of pursuing activities as a solo artist. They said, "Nicole has wanted both group and solo activities from the start of KARA. However, DSP Media does not recognize solo activities as an artist. Because of this, there was a difference of opinion. It seems this was one of the reasons for when she asked for her contract to be terminated back in 2011."

Regarding this report about Nicole's intention to leave for the U.S. in February, a DSP Media rep commented, "We are currently looking into the situation. The KARA members are currently on their tour in Japan. We haven't heard any details, so we will reveal our official statement after we confirm with Nicole."

For those just catching up with all this, DSP Media previously revealed that Nicole would not be renewing her contract with them, hinting that she will no longer be a member of the group. However, Nicole then spoke up to say that even if she is not under DSP, she hopes to carry on her activities with KARA. It seems the two sides have been working to reach an agreement on this issue, and fans can only hope that the two will be able to make a compromise.

I hope that DSP and Nicole can work something out, but if they can't I think they should just let her do what she wants, it's her choice and she's doing it for her own happiness, that's all that matters to me.  I love KARA so much, but we can't force members to stay if they don't want to, and I agree that DSP hasn't given her much of an opportunity to bloom as a solo artist and I'd love to see her develop more into one ^^ Nicori fighting!

No matter what the outcome is, I hope Nicole ends up pursuing what she has always wanted to do. Going back to her home isn't bad at all and wanting to study in order to expand her knowledge or dancing/singing skills is not bad at all. If DSP media lets her go, that's just a loss for them. She has nothing to lose but more to gain. I just wonder how key feels about all this lol

I don't care what people say or think, I hope Nicole gets to do what she wants and what makes her happy. Of course I'm not gonna lie, I will be really, really sad if she part ways with KARA, cuz she has been there since the very beginning, but....only time will tell.

Also, I hope DSP realizes what they might lose if this keeps going. Not only will they lose a really great artist, but  also fans and thus, money.

But anyway, NICOLE FIGHTING! KARA FIGHTING! KAMILIA FIGHTING!

I guess it is hard for Koreans and other non-Americans to understand that just because Korean Americans are of Korean ethnicity, Korea isn't necessarily "home."

Nicole is American, born and raised. She only moved to Korea for her Kpop career. Otherwise she probably would've been just another American kid in college right now. Same goes for SNSD's Tiffany and Jessica, and all the other born and bred KorAms in Kpop.

So why would anyone find Nicole's desire to go back to the USA (her home country) anything but normal if that is what she wants?

I guess DSP wants to look down the shotgun barrel to see if Nicole is bluffing.  SHM!!

I don't think you guys get the point here. She said she going to U.S to TRAIN her vocals/ rapping & dancing skills. She's NOT going to be a soloist in US! It said " to expand her dancing and singing skills" Goshhh.
