The One talks about his past hardships

Solo artist The One recently expounded upon his financial troubles in his past.

In his appearance on MBC's 'I Am a Singer 2', The One explained in an interview that he had gone through some rough times in past years.

"After I became known as a vocal trainer, I earned a lot of money. I invested all of it in something I was preparing for, but I found out after a year and a half I only had about 3 million won (approx. 2700 United States dollars) left," he confessed. "I lived for eight months without gas, water, or electricity. I learned that with pain comes music."

Meanwhile, The One put on a powerful performance in the latest episode, which put him against some of Korea's most talented artists such as Gukkasten, Byun Jin Sup, and Park Sang Min.
