TWICE's unit group, MISAMO, has captured attention by releasing a highlight medley video for its first Japanese full-length album, offering a visually rich and theatrical experience.
MISAMO is set to release its debut Japanese studio album, 'PLAY,' on February 4. Following the early release of the title track "Confetti" and its music video on January 16, the group unveiled the album’s highlight medley video at midnight on January 26 through its official social media channels.
The video opens with a surprise appearance by actor Satoh Takeru and unfolds as an audition to determine the true owner of the throne. Mina performs her solo track "Turning Tables," portraying a confident and self-directed character who chooses what she wants without hesitation. Sana follows with "Ma Cherry," embodying a figure admired by many for her blend of softness and inner strength. Momo then takes the stage with "Kitty," depicting a character who shines with her own unique light even amid chaos.

After the performances, just before the results are announced, Mina, Sana, and Momo stand up to the judges who attempt to impose a punishment. The trio ultimately emerges victorious, ending the video with all three wearing crowns. In addition to the solo tracks, other songs from the album, "Deep Eden," "Hmm," and "Not a Goodbye," are woven into the background like theatrical score music, giving the impression of watching a single, well-crafted stage play.
The highlight medley also draws attention to the special appearance by Satoh Takeru as the audition host. As the album 'PLAY' is themed around theater, the members expressed that collaborating with an actor would enhance the concept. The collaboration came to fruition when Sato Takeru, a popular figure in both Korea and Japan, agreed to participate.
'PLAY' marks MISAMO’s first full-length album released locally in Japan and serves as the finale of a trilogy that began with their debut album Masterpiece in July 2023, followed by their second mini-album 'HAUTE COUTURE' in November 2024. Having established a classic and elegant mood through the previous two releases, living up to their titles that evoke “masterpiece” and “the finest,” MISAMO now completes the narrative arc with 'PLAY.' Featuring a total of 12 tracks, including the title song "Confetti," the album is set for official release on February 4.
