Seventeen released a remix of British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress’s hit song “Illegal,” reinterpreting the track with their unique style. The remix features Seventeen members The8, Mingyu, and Vernon.
According to Pledis Entertainment, “Illegal + SEVENTEEN” was released on October 10 at 8 a.m. KST across major domestic and international streaming platforms. The remix is also included in PinkPantheress’s remix tape "Fancy Some More?," released the same day.
“Illegal” is a garage-style track that samples the electronic classic “Dark & Long - Dark Train” by British musician Underworld, enhanced with drum and bass elements. Since its release in May, the song has gained global popularity, entering the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and amassing over 130 million streams on Spotify.
Seventeen expressed through their agency, “Since this is a genre we personally enjoy, we had a lot of fun working on it. It was meaningful to present a fresh combination to both our fans and global listeners.” They added, “If you focus on the rhythm while listening, you’ll be able to appreciate the charm of "Illegal + SEVENTEEN" fully.”
