IU celebrated the 10th anniversary of her fourth mini-album 'CHAT-SHIRE,' which was released on October 23, 2015.
In light of the special anniversary, IU gifted fans a special, never-released performance video of "Twenty-Three," which was also a lead single and IU's first self-produced title track.
The track symbolized her coming of age at 23 and blended funk-pop and playful synth elements, while the lyrics delved deep into IU's self-identity and her definition of adulthood.
Although the album faced a few controversies, including the controversy over the track "Zeze," the album continued to receive much love, topping all major Korean charts on release, earning a Perfect All-Kill within a few days.
To celebrate her milestone a decade ago, IU released the special performance video explaining, "Anyone who holds on with all their heart always wins. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of IU’s first self-produced album, 'CHAT-SHIRE,' we’re gifting you the ‘Twenty-Three (Performance Ver.)’ video."
