i-dle has made a powerful return with “Good Thing”, the title track of their new mini album We are.
At the album’s press conference held in Seoul on May 19, Soyeon shared, “I wanted to explore a concept we’ve never done before.” The song tells the daring story of confronting a cheating lover, with Soyeon highlighting its bold lyricism and unique perspective as a female artist.
Yuqi described her reaction to the demo as electric, saying, “It felt like I got shocked. I asked, ‘Is this autotune real?’ It was so different from what we’ve done before.” Minnie added that the track reminded her of the K-pop songs from the early days that made her fall in love with the genre, thanks to its nostalgic autotune sound.
We are marks the group’s first comeback after all members renewed their contracts. It's also their first album where every member took part in songwriting and composition.
The title track “Good Thing” blends retro elements with confident storytelling, signaling a bold new chapter in i-dle’s evolving identity.
