EXO member Kai made his long-awaited solo comeback on April 21 at 6 p.m. KST, releasing the title track Wait On Me along with its official music video.
The track is the centerpiece of his fourth mini-album of the same name, which comes approximately two years after his last solo release, Rover, in March 2023. The new album features a total of seven tracks.
Wait On Me is a pop track infused with Afrobeats rhythms and layered synth string sounds. It expresses the beauty of emotions that unfold slowly and without urgency. Through this song, Kai delivers a refined groove and emotional tension, artistically portraying the theme of patience and the elegance of waiting.
The accompanying music video showcases Kai’s signature performance style against the backdrop of a dreamy desert setting. In particular, a striking scene of Kai walking down a long hallway accompanied by dancers captures attention with its unique choreography and visual storytelling
Kai shared, “Filming the hallway scene with the dancers was a lot of fun. I was excited to present a new style of performance.”
In addition to the title track, the album includes six other songs: pre-release single Adult Swim, Walls Don’t Talk, Pressure, Ridin’, Off and Away, and Flight to Paris, each offering a different mood and musical texture.
To celebrate the album’s release, Kai also held a fan showcase at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, where he spent time interacting with fans.
