Dowoon of DAY6 has unveiled his very first car, his beloved Defender, for the first time.
On March 4, a video titled “Revealing Dowoon’s Defender for the first time” was uploaded to Dowoon’s personal YouTube channel, “Yoon Dowoon DoYoon.” Sharing that he had been cautious about showing his car, Dowoon said, “I thought it would be fun to share it with fans, so I decided to introduce my car,” expressing his excitement.
The vehicle revealed in the video is a Land Rover Defender 110 D300, reportedly priced at around 100 million KRW (approximately $68,000 USD), featuring a sleek black edition exterior. Dowoon joked, “I bought it as a reward for working hard, so please look at it kindly,” while explaining that he chose the car for its comfortable ride and, above all, its safety. He particularly highlighted its strong water wading capability, saying it gives him peace of mind even on rainy days, showing his “safety first” mindset as a driver.

In the vlog, Dowoon personally took the wheel for a drive to Wando. Despite being a diesel vehicle, he pointed out the quiet engine sound and detailed features such as the built in refrigerator option, showcasing his knowledge about the car. He also honestly mentioned minor drawbacks, including slower T Map navigation search speed and noticeable wind noise, earning viewers’ appreciation for his candidness.
Dowoon also opened up about his driving habits, saying, “Driving helps relieve my stress, so I enjoy going on solo drives.” He added warmly, “When I’m on the road, I drive thinking that the car in front of me or next to me could belong to our fans, My Day, or their parents,” touching fans’ hearts.
Recalling mistakes he made as a beginner driver, including not knowing proper parking etiquette, he emphasized, “Attitude is important. If you make a mistake, apologizing right away is the best thing to do.”
For those considering buying their first car, Dowoon offered practical advice: “Start with a used car no matter what.” He explained, “If you buy a brand new car first and scratch it, it really hurts. But with a used car, your mistakes become learning experiences,” sharing tips drawn from his own experience.
