Singer Younha has sequentially unveiled tracklist images for all four songs included in her first remake album ‘SUB CHARACTER’.
Through these reveals, the titles and credits for the four tracks — ‘Seasonal Crime,’ ‘Sub Character,’ ‘Yeomra,’ and ‘Skybound’ — have been disclosed. By scanning the QR codes in the images, fans are directed to YouTube pages where they can watch the original songs’ music videos. With this unique teaser format, Younha has hinted at the high quality of her upcoming remakes.
First, the pre-release track ‘Seasonal Crime,’ unveiled on March 2, is a reinterpretation of a 2023 song by Miiro and has been receiving positive responses. Younha’s delicate, clear vocals and moist, lyrical sensibility deliver a different kind of emotion from the original.
The album’s title track ‘Sub Character’ is based on a 2024 release by wizu. Its honest lyrics, which express the feelings of watching the main character as a mere extra, have resonated deeply with listeners.
‘Yeomra’ is originally a song released in 2020 by the band Dal Haeil. Known for its unique atmosphere and storytelling, the track drew strong attention upon release. The original music video has surpassed 30 million views on YouTube, building a solid listener base.
‘Skybound’ is based on the title track from the 2023 first full-length album by co-ed band KARDI, formed on 'Superband 2' where they finished in third place. Attention is focused on how the song’s hopeful emotional line and exhilarating rock sound will harmonize with Younha’s voice.
This remake album holds particular value as it captures not only Younha’s deep reinterpretations but also her musical insight and distinct taste. Having built a solid musical world through well-crafted albums and self-composed tracks, anticipation is high for this new artistic attempt.
