Shinji, a member of the group Koyote, addressed the buzz surrounding the so called “yakgwa photo” she took with her niece during the Lunar New Year holiday.

On the 17th, Shinji shared a selfie on social media, writing, “It seems many of you were surprised by the yakgwa photo, so I am posting a selfie to calm your hearts. Please do not be more surprised.”
On Lunar New Year’s Day, Shinji spent an enjoyable time playing with her adorable niece and took several photos together. She later uploaded a picture in which her face was humorously edited onto a piece of yakgwa, a traditional Korean honey cookie. Although cute, the extreme close up of her face gave the image a rather bizarre and comical feel, drawing laughter from fans.
Meanwhile, Shinji is set to marry singer Moon Won, who is seven years younger than her, next year. However, negative public opinion spread after it was revealed that Moon Won is divorced and has a daughter, leading to speculation and criticism regarding his private life and the reason for his divorce.
His behavior on YouTube also became controversial. Moon Won faced criticism for not revealing that he was a divorced father before dating Shinji, saying he did not know she was famous, referring to his ex-wife with respectful language while calling Shinji, who is seven years older than him, “this friend,” and making inappropriate remarks about age to Kim Jong Min and Bbaek Ga.
In response, Shinji stated, “I fully understand the concern and worry you have shown. I will take time to think carefully and look into everything more closely.”
Recently, Shinji shared happier news, saying, “I would like to formally announce our marriage. Moon Won and I plan
to hold our wedding in May.”
