Actor Park Jung Min opened up about his admiration for Oh My Girl.
On the afternoon of February 17th(KST), Park Jung Min, the lead actor of the film 'Humint' (directed by Ryu Seung Wan), appeared as a guest on KBS Cool FM(a popular South Korean radio station known for music and entertainment programs)’s Oh My Girl Hyojung’s 'Turn Up the Volume' during the segment 'Hyojung’s Secret Garden.'
Upon introduction of the segment, Park Jung Min confessed, “I really love the song ‘Secret Garden.’” He shared a behind-the-scenes anecdote: “Previously, I was a candidate to sing on Youngji Lee’s version of ‘Rainbow.’ But I couldn’t sing all six of the group members’ parts, so I switched to another song.”
When asked whether he had a prior friendship with the program’s host, Park Jung Min replied, “It would be great if we did, but we don’t.” Hyojung responded, “It’s our first time meeting. How did you come on the show?” Park Jung Min explained, “I’ve loved the ‘Turn Up the Volume’ program since senior Yvonne hosted it in the past. It always starts at 8 PM, and I’m a fan of KBS radio.”
Hyojung added, “8 to 10 PM is perfect for you. Your voice is also calm, isn’t it?” At that moment, a listener requested, “Could you sing a line of ‘Secret Garden’?” Park Jung Min obliged, performing the part “My Secret Garden” on the spot, and said, “I really, really love this song. There was a time I lived listening only to this song. That’s how much I love it.”
When asked why he likes the song, he said, “It’s just a good song. All of Oh My Girl’s songs are great, but ‘Secret Garden’ is my favorite. I don’t have musical expertise, so I can’t analyze it technically, but I really like it.”
He also responded to a question about potential collaborations with other artists, stating, “If Oh My Girl needs me, I’d be happy to sing for them.”
