Min Hee Jin, CEO of OOAK Records, will stand before reporters once again as she prepares to address her recent court victory and outline her plans.
In a press release issued late on February 24, OOAK Records announced that Min will hold a press conference at 1:45 PM on February 25 at a venue in Jongno District, Seoul. The agency stated that Min Hee Jin will personally attend the event to comment on the first trial’s outcome and discuss her next steps.
Min Hee Jin previously served as CEO of ADOR under HYBE, where she produced girl group NewJeans in 2022. Following a prolonged conflict with HYBE, she was dismissed from her CEO position in August 2024 and stepped down from her role as an internal director in November of the same year. OOAK Records is a new agency she founded in November last year. More recently, Min announced plans to launch a new boy group through the label.
Meanwhile, the Civil Agreement Division 31 of the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Min in her lawsuit against HYBE over payment for stock sales. The court determined that her exercise of a put option was valid and ordered HYBE to pay approximately 25.5 billion KRW.
The court also dismissed HYBE’s separate lawsuit seeking confirmation of the termination of the shareholders’ agreement. HYBE had argued that Min seriously violated the agreement by allegedly attempting to “extract NewJeans” and pursue ADOR’s independence, claiming its notice of termination was valid. However, the court rejected HYBE’s arguments.
The judges stated, “It can be acknowledged that Min explored ways to make ADOR independent from HYBE,” but added, “That alone does not constitute a material breach of the shareholders’ agreement in this case.” HYBE has since filed an appeal against the first trial ruling.
In a related development, the Civil Agreement Division 17 of the Seoul Central District Court granted HYBE’s request to suspend compulsory execution against Min and others. As a result of the decision, enforcement of the put option payment has been suspended until a verdict is delivered in the appellate court.
