IVE member Jang Won Young has carried out a heartfelt act of generosity.
She recently donated 200 million KRW (approx. 138,561 USD) to Severance Hospital to support the treatment of pediatric and adolescent patients, stepping forward to aid children’s recovery and improve their medical care environment.
Of the total donation, 100 million KRW will be allocated to the Severance Children’s Hospital development fund. In comparison, the remaining 100 million KRW (approx. 69,260 USD) will be allocated to the Department of Pediatrics at Gangnam Severance Hospital.
A representative stated, “Jang Won Young has received immense love for her positive ‘Lucky Vicky’ mindset. As she has many young fans, she wanted to take the lead in giving back.”
The representative added, “She decided to make the donation in hopes of supporting children her age in their treatment and recovery, spreading positive influence, and helping them grow toward a brighter future together.”
Lee Sang Gil, Director of External Relations at Yonsei Medical Center, expressed gratitude, saying, “We sincerely appreciate Jang Won Young’s meaningful contribution. We will ensure it is used carefully to provide tangible support to young patients.”
IVE has consistently extended a helping hand to those in need.
In 2023, the group donated 150 million KRW (approx. 103,885 USD) to support emergency relief efforts following the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
Last March, they contributed a total of 200 million KRW to aid recovery efforts from simultaneous wildfires in the Gyeongsang region (100 million KRW) and to improve treatment and public awareness for firefighters dedicated to frontline response (100 million KRW).
In November of the same year, the members also offered support following a major fire in Hong Kong, delivering approximately 100 million KRW (500,000 HKD) to assist with emergency rescue operations and disaster recovery.
IVE has also been running a campaign for four consecutive years with Papa John's, where 1,000 KRW from each order is donated to Good Neighbors’ crisis support fund for children.
Meanwhile, on February 9, IVE released “BANG BANG,” the pre-release track from their upcoming album REVIVE+. The song drew global attention immediately upon release.
“BANG BANG” has been soaring on major domestic music charts, sweeping No. 1 spots on Melon, Bugs, and Vibe across the Hot 100, real-time, and domestic rising charts.
Internationally, the track entered the Top 10 of the iTunes K-pop Top Songs chart in 23 countries and regions. It also charted on the overall Top Songs chart in 18 countries and regions, underscoring the group’s growing global presence.
