HYBE and Geffen Records are holding their second global audition to select a new girl group member.
The audition program World Scout: The Final Piece will premiere on the Japanese OTT platform ABEMA on the 24th at 8 PM local time.
The show follows the journey to find the final member of a new four-member girl group poised to take on the global stage. Although only one spot is available, the audition attracted approximately 14,000 applicants.
The final selected contestant will join Emily Kelavos, Samara Siqueira, and Lexie Levin, who previously gained recognition through 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' the audition program that produced KATSEYE. The group is aiming to debut within the year.
The studio panel lineup is equally star-studded. LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura and Kazuha, ILLIT’s Iroha and Moka, and former AKB48 member, producer, and actress Sashihara Rino will appear on the show, observing the contestants’ growth and pivotal decisions throughout the competition.
Son Sung Deuk, chief creator at HxG, will serve as a judge. Widely known as BTS’s choreographer, he previously oversaw all aspects of 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' including planning, music, visuals, and overall production.
