Choi Jun Hee, the daughter of late actress Choi Jin Sil, is set to become a May bride and has spoken out to address inaccurate reports surrounding her upcoming wedding.
On February 15, news broke that Choi Jun Hee would be tying the knot on May 16 at a hotel in Seoul’s Gangnam district with her fiancé, a non celebrity office worker who is 11 years her senior. A day later, on February 16, she confirmed the news herself through social media, writing, “Yes, I’m getting married!”
She continued with a heartfelt message: “Family has never been an easy word for me. After a childhood that often felt filled with sadness, I long promised myself that one day I would build a warm home of my own. Now, not as someone’s daughter but as someone’s wife, and as the person who will create a new family of my own, I want to live a stronger and warmer life.”
Choi Jun Hee asked for privacy regarding her fiancé, stating, “My fiancé is a private individual, so I’m being cautious. Please refrain from unverified stories or speculation. This is a precious daily life for both of us.” She added, “Thank you to everyone who has sent warm blessings and support despite the sudden news. My heart wavered for a moment because of this situation, but in the end, I chose love and decided to be happy.”

Following the wedding announcement, some reports claimed the couple had been dating for five years, which led to online speculation and controversy. Choi Jun Hee expressed disappointment over the claims, saying, “The news was reported without my consent and without fact checking. Even the dating period is incorrect, and some articles were written as if I had given an exclusive interview. I was honestly very upset reading those sensational reports.”
She further stated, “Seeing the most important moment of someone’s life consumed with unverified information and provocative wording felt somewhat harsh and greedy. I sincerely hope no one in my family is hurt or affected because of my marriage. I respectfully ask that accurate fact checking be done before publishing articles.”
Emphasizing her stance, she wrote, “My marriage is not sensational content, it is my life,” showing a mature attitude as she prepares to begin a new chapter.
There were also reports suggesting that broadcaster Hong Jin Kyung had given her “permission” to marry. However, this was confirmed to be untrue. Hong Jin Kyung responded after the wedding news broke, saying, “Permission for marriage? What authority would I have? I only wish for her happiness. Jun Hee, congratulations on your wedding!” It was later clarified that she had previously given her blessing for the couple’s relationship, not their marriage, which Choi Jun Hee had also mentioned on social media.
Choi Jun Hee is the daughter of the late actress Choi Jin Sil and late former baseball player Cho Sung Min. Her older brother, Choi Hwan Hee, is currently active as a rapper.
