It has been confirmed that Park Na Rae’s former manager, identified as Ms. A, is currently staying in the United States, leading to delays in multiple police and labor-related investigations tied to an ongoing legal dispute between the two sides.
According to entertainment industry sources and related testimony on January 13, Ms. A departed for Las Vegas on the evening of December 22 at around 9 p.m. Nearly three weeks have passed since her departure, but she has yet to return to South Korea. Ms. A, who has prior experience living in the US, is reportedly spending time resting there. Her specific reason for leaving the country has not been disclosed.
Two days before her departure, on December 20, Ms. A appeared at Yongsan Police Station in Seoul for her first round of questioning as a suspect. Although investigations are rarely conducted on weekends, the questioning reportedly took place on a Saturday due to Ms. A’s imminent overseas travel. Previously, Park Na Rae filed a complaint against her former managers on charges of attempted blackmail and embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
A second round of suspect questioning scheduled for January 12 was postponed as Ms. A remained in the United States. Police are now required to adjust future investigation schedules in coordination with her overseas stay.
Ms. A’s complaint investigation with the Ministry of Employment and Labor has also yet to take place. On November 18 last year, she submitted a petition to the Seoul Gangnam Office of the Ministry, alleging that she had been subjected to workplace harassment by Park Na Rae. Typically, a complainant interview is conducted to establish the facts of such a case, but this process has also been delayed due to Ms. A’s absence from the country.
Meanwhile, Park Na Rae has temporarily suspended her broadcasting activities after becoming embroiled in controversies surrounding allegations of mistreatment of former managers and claims related to illegal medical procedures. She has since stepped down from her television programs. As investigations on both sides continue to face delays, the legal dispute between Park Na Rae and her former manager appears increasingly protracted.
