Park Na Rae’s former manager has stated allegations that event fees were deposited into his personal corporate account.
On January 19, the former manager, identified as 'A,' told a media outlet, "Receiving the event fee through my personal corporation, YYAC, was done after prior consultation with Park Na Rae.” She added, “All deposits, withdrawals, transfers, contracts, programs, advertisements, and events are carried out under Park Na Rae’s approval. It’s not something I could have done on my own.”
She continued, “This is absolutely not embezzlement. I have submitted related evidence and have already been investigated by the police. I would like to leave the matter to the investigators.”
The controversy arose after suspicions emerged that a 30 million KRW (approx. 20,373 USD) event fee from Brand L, originally meant to be paid to Park Na Rae’s agency, N Park, was instead transferred to the YYAC account, a company owned by 'A.' It was reported that in July last year, when sending business registration documents and a copy of a bankbook to Brand L’s event manager for contract purposes, A provided YYAC’s documents rather than those of Enpark.
Park Na Rae’s side countered, stating, “At the time, we received no report whatsoever from manager A. Park Na Rae only learned the full details later after directly communicating with Brand L.”
Meanwhile, Park Na Rae’s former managers have claimed they suffered workplace abuse during their employment, citing issues such as workplace harassment, aggravated injury, proxy prescriptions, and unpaid operational expenses. They filed a complaint against Park Na Rae on charges including aggravated injury, defamation through false statements, violations of the Information and Communications Network Act, and violations of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement).
In response, Park Na Rae filed a counter-complaint against her former managers on December 5 for attempted extortion at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, followed by an additional complaint on December 20 on charges of occupational embezzlement.
