Park Na Rae, who has recently been embroiled in allegations of workplace abuse involving former managers as well as claims of illegal medical practices, has now spoken out to clarify accusations of embezzlement linked to her former boyfriend.

In an interview with Ilgan Sports released on January 13, Park Na Rae explained the circumstances surrounding the complaint filed against her over alleged embezzlement involving her ex-boyfriend. She stated that her former partner was genuinely involved in operations at her agency, N Park.

According to Park Na Rae, while the company did have an accounting team, its role was limited to tax-related matters. “They were not familiar with practical tasks such as bookkeeping or broadcast contract paperwork,” she said. “That responsibility fell to my ex-boyfriend.” She added that he had majored in business administration and studied accounting, and was deeply involved in company operations—often more so than she was herself. “He worked alongside 'A' to draft contracts, search for office space, and review most of my agreements.”

Park Na Rae further revealed that during her time at JDB Entertainment, she had never personally reviewed contracts and was not even aware of the existence of broadcast contracts. About a month later, she asked her ex-boyfriend to temporarily handle related tasks, but he said it would be difficult without formal compensation due to his other commitments. “I asked if he could take on the role officially if I paid him a salary, and that’s how it began,” she explained. “He handled bookkeeping and related duties, and even joined staff dinners.”

Addressing allegations related to a housing deposit loan, Park Na Rae said, “He told me that if he were registered as an employee, the company could provide a housing deposit loan. After thoroughly checking with the accounting team, I proceeded with the transfer.” She emphasized that due to past controversies involving tax issues, she was especially cautious. “I confirmed with the accounting team that such a loan was permissible for employees. We completed all collateral procedures and paid interest properly, following standard processes.”

Park also addressed accusations involving her mother, who serves as the CEO of her agency. She explained that her mother oversees various tasks related to ambassador activities in Mokpo and is also involved in preparation work for her YouTube channel. “All of this work has documented records,” she said.

Meanwhile, former managers A and B, who previously raised allegations of workplace abuse and illegal medical practices, filed a complaint last month accusing Park of embezzlement. They claim that Park misused funds from her one-person agency, N Park, registered her ex-boyfriend as a fake employee and paid him 44 million KRW (approx. 30,034 USD) in salary, and transferred 300 million KRW (204,791 USD) from the company account under the pretense of securing a housing deposit. They also alleged that Park’s mother received KRW 55 million in salary without performing labor.

Despite Park Na Rae's latest explanation, Korean netizens are continuing to react negatively and skeptically. These netizens largely view Park Na Rae’s interview not as a clarification but as a de facto admission of wrongdoing. Many commenters argue that her explanations reinforce, rather than dispel, suspicions of embezzlement—particularly the decision to register her then-boyfriend as an employee and provide him with a 300 million KRW housing deposit loan, a benefit they note exceeds even what large corporations typically offer.

Korean netizens reacted:

"This is embezzlement, plain and simple."
"Seriously, nothing she says lines up. Feels like she’s patching lies one by one."
"So, for basic obligations, she runs the place like a shady tiny company, but when it comes to giving her boyfriend benefits, she suddenly follows big conglomerate welfare standards. That’s what’s truly pathetic."
"Didn’t she say a month ago she wouldn’t explain and would let the legal process handle it? Now she’s changing her story and playing the media game. Looks really bad."
"If what the managers said is true, I wonder if the boyfriend even got paid on time, or only after asking."
"Guess she’s confident she won’t get hit with a tax audit."
"Looks like the unpaid wages issue is undeniable, so she can’t even address it."
"What the hell kind of nonsense is this?"
"Didn’t she say the manager handled all the bookkeeping and accounting?
So did all employees get 300 million KRW loans? Is there even an internal rule for this?"
"Sounds like she hired him as an 'employee' just to pay out the housing deposit money."
"Her obsession with men is on another level."
"This is why being man-obsessed is so damn embarrassing. Boyfriend hit the jackpot."
"She’s digging her own grave even without anyone touching her."
"Bookkeeping was probably just outsourced to an accounting office anyway LOL."
"Being this crazy over a man is honestly disgusting."
"Boyfriend sucks her dry, she gives him whatever he wants, employees get worked to death and don’t even get paid on time LOL."
"This is hilarious. Female managers are paid like it’s the worst of the worst sweatshop, but her boyfriend gets housing loans better than major conglomerates."
