A new movement organized by NewJeans fans is attracting attention.
During the past week, NewJeans fans posted thousands of comments each day on famous YouTuber MrBeast's Instagram. The comments asked MrBeast to "buy HYBE" and "save NewJeans", likely due to the fact that MrBeast is well-known for his wealth. With the tag "#mrbeastsavenewjeans," MrBeast's posts were quickly taken over by tens of thousands of comments from K-pop fans.
In particular, many comments also asked MrBeast to bring Danielle back to NewJeans. Her contract termination and removal from the group, which occurred last week, shocked fans across the world. NewJeans fans have similarly caught attention for sending thousands of 'protest faxes' over Danielle's removal to South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
Meanwhile, a popular post on a mainstream Korean discussion forum brought the situation to K-netizens' attention, and it quickly became a trending topic. Netizens expressed their embarrassment over the new protest, calling it "ridiculous" and "hilarious."
