Naul, a member of the vocal group Brown Eyed Soul, shared a personal confession during the group’s solo concert 'SOUL Tricycle', recently held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul.
The concert marked the return of Brown Eyed Soul after a six-year hiatus. During the event, Naul revealed that he had spent two years unable to sing properly due to vocal cord polyps—growths on the vocal folds caused by repeated irritation or bleeding. While he appeared to restrain his ad-libs more than in the past, his signature emotive tone and powerful high notes remained intact.
"I could not sing for two years," Naul confessed to the audience. "A lot has happened during that time, and there were many difficulties." Expressing his emotion, he added, "This is the first time I have seen you all since 2019. I never imagined we would perform on such a large stage."
This event marked the first time Brown Eyed Soul held a solo performance at the Gocheok Sky Dome, South Korea's largest indoor venue. Originally scheduled for three shows on December 24, 25, and 27, the tickets sold out immediately upon release. In response to the high demand, a fourth show was added on December 31, setting a new milestone for the group. "I missed the feeling of being on-site so much. Every single person who came here today is precious," he stated.
Known for being more reserved than fellow members Jung Yeop and Young Jun, Naul surprised the crowd with his humor. He drew laughter by promoting his personal YouTube channel, 'Naul’s Music World', saying, "Since you are here, please subscribe. I would appreciate it if you could like, comment, and set notifications as well." He further heightened expectations for future stages by mentioning, "If given the chance, I would like to perform with choreography someday, similar to the international vocal ensembles of the 1970s."
