Mnet’s 'SHOW ME THE MONEY 12' production team has reportedly contacted rapper A, who has been indicted on charges of violating the Military Service Act, to verify the facts surrounding the case.
According to an Ilgan Sports report on January 30, rapper A spoke with the 'SHOW ME THE MONEY 12' producers the previous day and candidly shared his position regarding the allegations of military service evasion. A’s side is expected to release an official statement soon through legal counsel.
A representative from A’s side told Ilgan Sports, “It is true that he was recently investigated on charges of violating the Military Service Act,” but emphasized, “No legal judgment has yet been made regarding the allegations. He plans to prove his innocence through the upcoming trial process.”
Earlier, another media outlet reported that rapper A, currently appearing on 'SHOW ME THE MONEY 12,' had been indicted without detention on suspicion of evading active-duty military service by allegedly feigning mental illness. A is accused of having received a Grade 2 active-duty fitness ruling during his 2016 physical examination, but then intentionally undergoing psychiatric treatment during the first half of 2022 and citing depression and related conditions to obtain a Grade 4 ruling, making him eligible for alternative service as a social service worker.
Mnet has so far maintained a cautious stance. A representative from the network stated, “We are in the process of confirming the facts,” adding, “We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to mention or confirm any specific cast member.” Despite the controversy escalating, Mnet has continued with its scheduled broadcasts, airing the third episode as planned without issuing a separate statement or taking visible action, drawing criticism for what some view as a near hands-off response.
