Kim Tae Ri is set to make her first-ever appearance as a fixed cast member on a variety show since her debut.
On January 20 KST, tvN announced that Kim Tae Ri, Choi Hyun Wook, and Kangnam will star in its new variety program 'After School, Teacher Taeri'.
After School, Teacher Taeri is a new reality entertainment show that follows a one-of-a-kind after-school theater class held at a small rural elementary school. The program centers on children and their teachers as they create a special theatrical experience together.
For Kim Tae Ri, the show marks her first fixed variety role since debut, signaling a new challenge in her career. Having built a reputation for her wide-ranging performances across romance, science fiction, historical dramas, and even traditional Korean musical theater, Kim now takes on the role of an elementary school drama club teacher. Notably, she first began acting through a university theater club, making this project especially meaningful.
Joining her as assistant teachers are Choi Hyun Wook and Kangnam. Choi Hyun Wook plays the role of a thoughtful drama counselor who listens attentively even to the smallest voices, while occasionally revealing a charmingly clumsy side that creates natural chemistry with the children. Kangnam, known for his exceptional friendliness, energizes the group as the class’s certified mood-maker, instantly putting everyone at ease.
The production team explained, “After School, Teacher Taeri was inspired by real cases in which after-school programs helped revive schools at risk of closure.” They added, “We hope viewers will show interest and support for this one-of-a-kind theater class, where first-time teachers Kim Tae Ri, Choi Hyun Wook, and Kangnam grow alongside the children.”
