Singer Jeon So Mi is facing controversy over photos she took inside a taxi in Japan.
On January 26th KST, Jeon So Mi uploaded several photos to her Instagram along with the caption, “One random day.” The pictures showed her enjoying a trip in Japan. While riding in a taxi, she drew attention by taking a photo with one leg raised. She was also seen posing similarly, lifting one leg, in a rest area at a shopping center.
Some netizens criticized her actions, pointing out that placing one’s feet up while wearing shoes inside a taxi used by many people goes against public etiquette. There were also reactions saying that, as a K-pop star active globally, engaging in such behavior in Japan — a country known for its sensitivity to public manners — could be seen as embarrassing on a national level.
Born in 2001, Jeon So Mi released her second mini album 'Chaotic & Confused' last August and promoted with the title track "Closer". She is also set to take on an acting challenge through the thriller film 'Perfect Girl', a global project centered on K-pop, co-starring Adeline Rudolph and Arden Cho.
